Greg Sharpe on the Big 10 Huskers

From Ralph Hipp

Great to hear from Greg Sharpe on WHB in Kansas City today.  He talked with the sports guys on how Nebraska is adjusting to life so far in the Big 10 Conference, after their solid loss to Wisconsin Saturday night.  Some of the high points of Greg's conversation:

He's really fired up about the Big 10 experience, Greg loved being at Camp Randall Stadium last weekend, but some new wrinkles in Nebraska's offense may have made them vulnerable to Wisconsin's strong attack on the ground.

Up next is Ohio State.  Greg says this game has already lost a lot of its luster for the big networks after the Buckeyes huge off the field problems, and the Nebraska loss to the Badgers.  Greg says Nebraska will still be strong on offense behind Taylor Martinez, and the Buckeyes are tough on defense.. both teams will rely on breakout games from special teams.

Sharpe's calling this one as a close, low-scoring game.

Greg also raises his eyes over the Huskers tough on-the-road schedule, with big games AT Penn State, and AT Michigan.  Sharpe says most people agree, the Big 10 didn't want the Huskers to outright win the title in their first year in the league.. so the schedule makers made it tough on 'em.. and Nebraska's schedule is.. what it is.

On Mizzou: Thinks the Tigers should proceed with caution and think long and hard about leaving the Big 12.  If they think it's really a good fit to move somewhere else, they make your move.  He thought the Big 10 would be a much better for fit, much more so than the SEC.

So that's some of what Greg has to report from Lincoln.. well, that.. and that Coach Bo Pelini chews mostly Peppermint gum on the sidelines.

What are your thoughts on Greg's interview?  Or Nebraska.. or Mizzou?
