As I debate another cup of coffee and daydream about those donuts still in the sales office, I came across an article on Yahoo! Health promising five food that fight fatigue. No, coffee and baked goods are not on the list.
One food I was happy to see, however, was oatmeal! Points for me - I had it for breakfast today! The article says oatmeal is a great breakfast food because it gives you an instant boost of energy but without the sugar in many cereals that causes a mid-morning crash. Hmmmm...does it count if I put a heaping spoonful of sugar in my bowl?!
Got the muchies in the afternoon? Grab a handful of almonds or other nuts. Same thing - energy-producing vitamins and minerals without a lot of sugar.
The other foods on the list are yogurt, spinach and beans. It's interesting to see why they might boost your energy and the best times of day to eat them. Here's a link to the full article so you can check it out: http://health.yahoo.net/articles/nutrition/photos/foods-fight-fatigue#0
