I must credit producer & sports aficionado Blake Kresge for first showing me an ad that's drawing an outcry online. It's for NFL.com Fantasy Football. It has the headline, "Injury ruined your Fantasy season?" with an image of Chiefs running back Jamaal Charles being carted off the field with what turned out to be a season-ending knee injury.
According to various online articles, it was on the NFL's site for several days and, when contacted, a league spokesperson told one writer it was a mistake by fantasy football's marketers that was taken down immediately.
The ad comes at a time when current and retired players have questioned what the league has done and will do to ensure injured players or those who suffer lingering effects from their playing days are taken care of. Of course, there are those on the flip side who argue it's no big deal - after all, how many fantasy players expressed the exact sentiment? In the middle of the road would be the thought that's it may be true, but in poor taste.
Here's a look at the ad - what do you think about it?
