It's the bye week, but is this going to be the "bye week" for Larry Johnson to depart the Kansas City Chiefs?  Not much chance of that.

Let me explain why.

We're all aware of the Twitter controversy, after some of Larry's tweets we could show on the air, and the others about the media which we could NOT show on the sports.  Those f-words have drawn the ire of the NFL and gay groups, and drew a suspension for LJ which I expect will cover the next month through the next game with San Diego.

Chiefs voice Mitch Holthus was in Topeka yesterday, saying Larry's done.  Former Chiefs center Tim Grunhard told an audience listening in WHB Radio that Johnson is "addicted to attention.. if no one's talking about him, he creates situations in which people will be talking about him."  Boy, that is a very observant remark and is at the heart of his problems with the Chiefs.  Instead of letting their anger get the best of them, the Haley/Pioli team is predicted to let Johnson stew on suspension instead of releasing him.  Grunhard says for Larry to behave this way then be released.. only to be picked up the Patriots, Cowboys or any team with a chance at making the playoffs would be an insult to the Chiefs and rewarding Johnson's behavior.  Behavior that includes remarks from Dick Vermeil that LJ "needs to take off his diapers and play," his incident during Herm's tenure of spitting beer in a woman's face at a Plaza bar.. and now the "twitter debacle" which will mark his 3rd and final strike with the ballclub.

So the smart money is that Larry will disappear, to be released at the end of the season with a much, tougher road to climb back to the top, the middle or the bottom.  We'd appreciate your thoughts on what the Chiefs should do with #27..   Ralph

LJ's comments on Twitter about how the Chiefs cant stop his paychecks tell the whole story. While under contract, he was a holdout and ended up getting a new bigger contract. ( mistake #1 )Then after he got "rich" his performance dwindled, and he got an attitude of " I have arrived " Then he spit on a woman in a bar, something a 4 year old might do.( mistake #2 )and now after the twitter comments, he quickly apologizes and thinks that will fix everything. He may be trying to force a trade so he can get on a winning team, but he needs to be a man and live up to his contract and quit being a burden on the team, and the Chiefs need to spend some money and field a team that has a chance instead of having an annual rebuilding theme. If they are rebuilding, why do they always trade away the best players in exchange for draft picks that are unproven ?

Yep!! Let the thug stew. Keep him on the team and MAKE him sit. Letting the thug go now would only reward his ghetto behavior. And no I'm not politically correct...JUST CORRECT.

Why is it that Kansis CIty teams...like the CHiefs are Royals.....are like farm teams for the rest of the league. To have a winnging team you have to have winning attitudes....and winning attitudes usually have a very cocky, selfish, yet very productive player. Attitude is what wins games, attention is what bring in money, a amazing show of talent is what brings in fans!!

yep lets get rid of a guy that could have taken us places had it not been for upper management for as long as he has been here. if i had that much talent id b irate too he has done everything that the organization has asked of him and he has nothing to show for it. U have to win games to be able to keep talent in an org and i guess if no one has noticed that doesnt happen in Kansas City. We let the good talent go so we dont have to spend the money to win and the fans keep coming back. U guys need to make up ur mind have alittle drama and a winning team or players that or boring and keep droping the ball

LJ needs to go! He has never wanted to be in KC and has said he doesn't like living in Kansas City. Maybe the Chiefs organization needs to send Larry to the Oakland Raiders. It would probably be a better fit. LJ and the Raiders coach would get along just fine. Don't let this idiot break Priest Holmes rushing record!

That is a HUGE reason for LJ to go! He only needs 75 more yards to break the record; many don't want his name at the top of our rushing list. But he won't get any rushing yards for at least the next four weeks. rh

I say give him a broom and let him clean the stadium. might get something out of him then

Why not get rid of him when they might be able to get something for him - if they wait until the end of the season, it will be difficult to get much interest. Why should the Chiefs continue to pay him when he doesn't produce and is an embarassment to the team.

I am sadden by this but I don't think Larry Johnson has done anything worse than Michael Vick and he was welcomed back to the NFL. So where does it end for our so called professional ball players? I don't think any of these actions are very professional. It is insulting to everyone.
