This is the reason I do it

Every now and then we get a story that awes, inspires and makes a positive difference above and beyond information on how to file your taxes or when the post office is closing.

Yesterday I met a seventh grader named Drake who has managed to light a fire in the community. He's an incredible kid who was all smiles the entire time I interviewed him (even when we made him trek all over the school so we could see his locker and follow him to class!). Read the story here:

Jessica SeidelThe classmate he's helping is Jessica Seidel. She's having a tough time right now.

Since Tuesday's story I've gotten an amazing response. Drake's mom e-mailed to tell me four other middle school students and their families, and one student who knew Jessica from elementary school, all helped contribute another $600+ dollars in addition to their $260 Wii money, to the Seidels.

Drake is just 13 years old and look at the difference he's already made. No matter how young the voice, there are always many ears to listen. I'm proud to help provide a platform for his story and to let the Seidels know that there is a community ready and able to support and pray for them and their daughter.
