When I woke up this morning, I was pumped for the new iPhone 2.0 firmware update. So I went through the process, starting around 10:30am to get the new goodies onto my original iPhone. Only problem... it stopped in the middle, and rendered my phone nearly useless (stuck in Emergency mode). I was hacked off, and quickly found that I wasn't alone.
Searches of message boards and blogs found that thousands around the nation had the same problem. After countless attempts, I finally got it to update around 2:40, over 4 hours after I started. Looks like apple dropped the ball here. Anyone else have issues updating their's, or turning on the new 3G?
Here's a link to a couple articles that shows how widespread the problem was: http://ap.google.com/article/ALeqM5jeQB_4vxoBp-evv_7ghNwrkYpDWQD91ROLGO6 http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/25637854/wid/11915829?GT1=40006
