"We Was Robbed"

To quote Joe Jacobs,  "We was robbed!"

Last  week, our station took part in a little contest to get our employees involved in art.  We were each handed a small box of clay to create "art".

I'm not much of an artist, but my box of clay spoke to me.  "Let me out!" could be heard coming from my box.  I opened it and looked at the collection of multi-colored clay.  There he was.....waiting to be formed......"Clay" Aiken!!!!

It was destiny.  A person with no artistic talent seeing an image in a lump of clay.  I did my homework.  I found nobody else that connected with their clay the way I did with mine.  I was sure that $25 steakhouse certificate for first place belonged to me (and Clay).

Then the announcement came.  "First place goes  to Chuck Norris", read the e-mail.  Once again...just like on American Idol....poor Clay finished second.

Nothing against Chuck (if he is a loyal 13 News blog reader, I'd like to hear from him), but come on!!!!!  What has he done for me or you lately?  He drinks Mountain Dew and peddles exercise equipment on infomercials.

Clay on the other hand, is a talented pop artist and makes a pretty good looking clay sculpture.

Here are some pictures of the "art" created by our talented staff.  I hope you enjoy.

PS   Joe Jacobs was the manager of heavyweight boxer Max Schmeling, who lost a title fight to Jack Sharkey in 1932.

Some of the clay works of art we came up with.                             The "winner"...Chuck Norris created by Chris.

A nice, colorful rainbow by Candice.                                     Melissa's clay version of Clifford the Big Red Dog...Clayford

My personal favorite..."Clay" Aiken.  Notice the emotion in his little clay face as he sings into his clay mic.

Tyler's tough looking creation.                                                    No it is not a sombrero. It is Josh's satellite truck.
