On the morning show today- Amanda Lanum and myself were discussing our favorite seasons, which brought up some interesting points.

See full size imageAs we were thinking of our favorite season- I immediately regressed to summer... I love summer!  I like hot weather (not so much all the humidity...), I love swimming, boating, camping, pretty much anything outside in the summer!  "Summer is definitely my favorite."

But then I got to thinking about fall- and football, sweatshirt-wearing, leaves-falling weather, and thought, "hmm... maybe fall is my favorite..."

Then I got to thinking about winter- and the Christmas season, and curling up in front of a fire- with snow falling out the window, and snow covering the trees, and the smell of wood-burning stoves, and thought "hmm... maybe winter is my favorite..."

THEN I got to thinking about spring... and all the buds on the trees, and flowers, and wearing sandals for the first time, and spring colors and jackets, and thought... well, you get the point... I guess I'm just grateful to live in a place where we have all four seasons.  If I were to move somehwere where one of them were missing- I would absolutely miss it.  I cannot imagine living somewhere- where it doesn't get very hot in the summer, or where there was no snow for Christmas.  What is your favorite season and why?  Is there any season you could live without?

I'm glad we have all four. I'd get too bored with just one season all the time!

Fall is my favorite, all the gorgeous colors, football, and knowing the holidays are just around the corner,Ive never cared for the heat of summer, and not a big fan of the bitter cold, short days and long nights, spring comes in second, everything is fresh and new again.

I agree with you Amy, I love all four seasons.

I think spring is my favorite season, it means the end of COLD and snow , which I don't like, plus new beginnings, flowers, trees budding, the smell of new mown grass, beginnings of longer days, birds singing, etc etc.

I guess Summer is my favorite, but hate, hate, hate the humidity! Can't tolerate the bitter cold, but I LOVE it when it's snowing out! Go figure!! I guess I mainly agree with Amy that I'm glad we have all 4 seasons even with the cold and the hot!

I love them all. But I love Spring - rebirth of plants/trees & faith/garage sales start. I love Summer - lazy days, but I work during week so I don't get to enjoy much of it but weekends & thunderstorms, not violent ones. Fall - the beautiful colors of the trees & Thanksgiving with family. Winter - white fresh snow with little tracks the birds have made & the stillness & the Christmas season with family/friends. But as I said I love each one so I can't really pick a real favorite so they all are my favorites because esch holds a special meaning for me.

Winter is my favorite season. I hate summer storms, especially tornadoes! They terrify me! Snow doesn't bother me...I just curl up with a good book and let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!

I agree with Anon. I could do without winter. I like Spring and Fall the best, but enjoy summer as well. I don't tolerate cold well at all :)

Normally I would say spring and summer but for the year I have to say WINTER. I retire in February.

Fall would be my favorite, not to hot, not to cold. and as you stated FOOTBALL :) but I do enjoy the changing leaves and sights that come with that. I could do without Summer, or I should clarify that (Summer with temps over 90),....that and humidity. nothing like getting in your car in the dead of summer and frying your hand on the steering wheel after it's been baking in the sun all day. So yeah, bring on Fall :)
