The Greatest Job in the World!
I was at the drive-thru window of a local eating establishment recently,  when the lady working there recognized me. She mentioned she was watching our storm coverage one night, and heard one of our storm chase reports.  "You have the greatest job in the world" she said.  It didn't take me long to realize how fortunate I've been to have worked at a place where I can do what I love to do and get paid for it!  Do you enjoy your job? or what would you do (other than getting paid more or work less) to change it if you could?

I have a question; I am working on some weather history. Is it possible to calculate the relative humitity if you have the temperature & mean dew point? Thanks, Rob; miss seeing you on WIBW1 Rob's Response: Dewpoint and humidity are difficult to explain. Humidity is the percentage of water vapor in the air vs. the amount of water vapor the air can hold at a given temp. Dewpoint is the temp. at which water would condense (dew would form) if the air were cooled to that temp. They both give us an idea of how much moisture is present, but there isn't a direct correlation between the two. For example, if the temp. is 70 degrees, and the dewpoint is 70, the relative humidity is 100%. But if the temp. is 70 and the dewpoint is 35, the relative humidity is not 50%. So, after all of that, the answer to your question is no. Thanks for the e-mail and the kind words!

Rob, I am glad that you are able to enjoy your job. All of you at WIBW do a great job of keeping us posted on the weather. I too have a part time job evenings and weekends that I enjoy. That is being a cart pusher at the local Wal-Mart .I think it is great to get for work ,that I also get to excercise at. Rob's Response: I'm glad you enjoy your job, even in the hot weather. Thanks for the e-mail!

I want to be a meteorologist someday. That will be the greatest job in the world.

Posted by: PS I too am fortunate, love my job! What would I change about it? Not much, but it would be nice for everyone to get along instead of ego's getting in the way some days. Agree to disagree and continue on.
