From Ralph Hipp
We've reported the long string of stories detailing the confusing handling of operations at the Shawnee County Treasurer's Office. The White Lakes annex shutdown for fire code violations. Not training workers on new software systems, as mandated by the State. Waits lasting hours at the only tag renewal office at the Courthouse. Finding part of dance studio facility near Wanamaker to open a 2nd facility. Saying they just won't be ready by November 15th.
It's enough to drive Shawnee County car drivers crazy. And the man behind the madness is Larry Wilson. His managing of the operations has taken plenty of meeting time at County Commission sessions, and plenty of airtime on WIBW Radio's On the Other Hand radio show. So if you listen in to either of those events, you'll be up to speed on what is.. or is not going on at the Courthouse.
Now, I'd like to spend a little time on my own here, asking what you'd do now that I am making YOU the new Shawnee County Treasurer. All in an attempt to alleviate the crowding and shorten the waits for people fulfilling their obligations to drive their vehicles.
I'm ready. What's your suggestion on how you would run the Treasurer's office?
