Channel surfing on Tuesday, you could not avoid the notoriety of the trial of Casey Anthony in Orlando, the nation's fascination with this case, and a "not guilty" verdict for Casey.
She'll be sentenced on charges of lying to police during the investigation, and will more than likely be released with the three years she's already served in jail.
On to some of the basic questions.. of the children who are murdered in the United States each year, how do you suppose Caylee captured our hearts and this trial captured our attention? What are your thoughts on abortion or adoption, some other alternative for a woman who obviously has no interest in mothering a young child? (How about growing up for a change and taking on your parental responsibilities?) And our main topic on the sounding board is, for heaven's sake, what is your opinion about this "not guilty" verdict?
Even when she's released on Thursday, this entire family is about to go through an entirely new round of hell on earth. Death threats are already being lodged against Casey Anthony, and there's virtually no one in the U.S. who wouldn't be able to recognize this very troubled family.. possibly soon to be a family on the run.
I sure look forward to reading your opinions. Ralph
