Very nice welcoming Stephanie Hall of the Topeka Library for "Library Tuesday" this week on our 4:00 chatfest. She came with a stack of good books to define "hot summer beach reads" for us.. they don't have to be cheap paperback romance novels, they can be any book you open, hardback or paperback, that you can't put down! My summer recommendation is Stieg Larsson's "The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo" which I'm just finishing in paperback this week. What an amazing story, and now I'll probably go to a biography of a REAL person, then maybe start on the 2nd Larsson story, "The Girl Who Played With Fire." I would sure recommend them all, and the 3rd one "Hornet's Nest".. only in hardback right now.. is doing well, too.
Stephanie brought these titles she recommends: "Seize the Moment," by Nora Roberts.. "Sizzing Sixteen," the latest hot number from Janet Evanovich.. "Innocent" by Scott Turow.. as well as "Theodore Boone: Kid Lawyer" a new effort from John Grisham. She even brought over Bill Madden's biography of the late Yankees owner George Steinbrenner, who will be a readable topic this summer now that he's gone.. quite a life!
So tell our wibw.com blog fans what you're reading this summer, thumbs up or thumbs down, should we read it?? and we'll add it to this list! Ralph (and Stephanie Hall)
