I thought it would be interesting to welcome some of our area's retiring principals to the 4pm talk show in these last few weeks of school and brag about them, let them reflect on their years as principals, and share a funny story or two from their schools. Dale Cushinberry of Highland Park appeared on our show last week, terrific guy and guest, and I even asked if he could some others to come on and do the same thing.
You know what happened? No one else was interested. And I actually smiled about that. Steve Roberts of Eisenhower Middle School, Bill Hund of Most Pure Heart of Mary.. all very politely said they would rather not talk about themselves on a live TV show. So did Superintendent Diane Miller in Council Grove. I think that speaks volumes to their giving spirit for our kids, and their humble work leading them through their educations experiences. Bravo! I am honored to let you off the hook and not put you in the spotlight.
Why don't we honor them here on the Hipp blog page? Please tell me about a retiring principal you know, and what makes them so special. Thanks. And thanks to our educators and principals for all they do, in what's been a very touch financial year for our schools.
