By Ralph Hipp
As we reach another Mother's Day weekend, I just wanted to say hi to my 78-yar old mom, Valerie Hipp, down in Florida.. (I'll have to get her to read this!) And I always love to have you join me in my sounding board for your comments on what you love the most about your mom.
Mom with my youngest sister, Patty Shewey
I would have to say the thing I love most about Val is showing me the treasure of being kind to other people. This has really served me well in working in the television business, with the joy of being able to interview all kinds of Kansans on WIBW every afternoon. Each guest who comes to visit us, is special to me in their own way. That is an attribute she has left with me over all these years. I thank my late father is leaving me with some of his fantastic and funny sense of humor. Combined with my mother's sweet nature to others; I always strive toward keep their best attributes alive for me, and for my children, too.
Happy Mom's Day to all this weekend! Ralph
