After all that time with Tom Asbury, Jim Wooldridge, Huggy Man then the amazing Frank Martin, it all came down to last night.
Kansas State basketball is already on the map. Matt Blanchette called last night's 101-96 double OT win over Xavier the best college hoops game he'd ever seen. Period. I wanted to ask you Wildcat fans if the Thursday night classic was at the very least, the best K-State basketball game you've ever seen. And they're not done by a "long shot!"
When Wildcat basketball was simply mediocre, the whole idea of disposing of Asbury and Wooldridge was to get into the NCAA Tournament and GO DEEP.
The circumstances which also led to convincing Bob Huggins to give K-State a try to get his career back on track.. only led KSU to the promised land, turning over the reins to a man who continues to amaze us as a college basketball recruiter and coach of the first degree. Kudos to Frank Martin, Jacob Pullen, Denis Clemente, Dominique Sutton, Curtis Kelly and the amazing cast of cat characters we will long remember in Manhattan, and here at WIBW for giving our fans such a great show. Carry on, Cats! Ralph
