Folks, WIBW is joining forces with TPAC and our Topeka Public Library to bring you an exciting stage presentation and book discussion in April.
We're excited that one of Kansas' finest, Ed Asner, is coming to Topeka April 27th for his one-man show "FDR" at the Topeka Performing Arts Center. He's appearing in Parsons, Kansas next week to present his show at the Parsons Municipal Auditorium.
I'll visit with Mr. Asner next Tuesday to interview him for our 4:00 show, and get an exclusive preview of his tour de force! Of course, we've enjoyed Ed Asner's work for decades on the "Mary Tyler Moore" Show, many outstanding movies, and even recently, as the voice of Carl in "Up!" the fabulous film honored at the Oscars this month.
Ed's one-man performance is based on the biography "FDR" by Jean Edward Smith. I'll be moderating our book chat on this terrific biography of a one-of-a-kind president, Franklin Delano Roosevelt. Mark that on your calendar for April 3rd at the Topeka-Shawnee County Public Library.. and start reading! It's a big book! But it will help you enjoy Ed Asner's performance that much more
And that's not all!
As a way to have you join our book discussion group on "FDR," I have 6 copies of FDR that I AM GIVING AWAY, HOPEFULLY TO YOU! Just reply to me and let me know how much you'd like to read this book. We'll expect you at the Library April 3rd to share in our discussion. So write to me with your reasons why you'd like to me to give one of my six books. All I need is your e-mail address and/or phone number, so we can get in touch with you. Thanks, and hope you enjoy "FDR." I've already started it! Ralph
