Getting a "Handle" on H1N1

By Ralph Hipp When I was out shopping today and thinking of something we could talk about on the blog this weekend, it hit me.  The answer was right there in my hands.  Just think of all the things we grab which could contain germs or viruses leading to catching seasonal or swine flu!  While even our school children know to wash their hands all the time to keep from getting sick, these are things we should use our disinfectant wipes on, too!

Shopping carts:  Whose hands have been on this grocery cart handle?  Buy a container of wipes at the store and clean this off.

Library books:  One of the major cootie culprits, even though we love to check out free books to read because we may not be able to afford buying a lot of books right now.  Grab a wipe and clean off that plastic book cover after you check it out.

Change:  You don't where these nickels and dimes have been!  This is a hand washer.  I did chuckle thinking of using a cleaning wipe to scrub every coin in your pocket!

Fruits and vegetables:  Not only good to rinse them in the sink to clean off preservatives or pesticides.  Remember the shoppers who've picked through every apple and orange to find the right one.  And we're not comparing apples and oranges.  Even a tiny pinch of dishwashing liquid can be used when you wash off produce from the store.

So what can you think of.. to put our disinfectant cleaning wipes to the test and keep us healthy?  We appreciate all your ideas to protect ourselves from the flu, and H1N1.   Ralph
