My recent K-State, Who's the Boss blog page can be read in a whole new light now that the Bob Krause secret agreement with Ron Prince has come to light. Dr. Kirk Schulz can no longer say he's not going to be involved in scheduling or hiring, or any other aspects of running the athletic department. How can he not be involved in any part of it now? Fortunately, Kansas State already has a fresh slate with Schultz, Bill Snyder and John Currie. (The new AD starts on the job June 7th.)
May I offer a prediction on the impact of this upcoming lawsuit? Watch for what happened between Prince and Krause to rock contract and buyout negotiations for KSU, and for all the other colleges in the Big 12. Other universities around the nation may red flag the "K-State Secret Deal" as a word to the wise on how NOT to buyout a departing coach. And all the ink and media about this deal is what's embarrassing Wildcat fans this summer.
Overall, it's another sorry state of affairs that Americans are fed up with. Compensating and rewarding mediocrity. I like to hear what you think about how the promised money for Prince will "ripple out." rh
