Don't worry, by Friday, everything's gonna be fine.
Billy and Patty are coming this weekend, they've laid out $500 for the deposit for the hall, and the total cost is $1,000. You just need to pick up the snacks and call the caterer, and I'll find a place for all the guests.
That my friends, is everything I heard.. on a cell phone call between two complete strangers.
Call it the curse of having cell phones everywhere, but I just can't believe how people walk around grocery and discount stores talking to their friends, planning out their lives while I can hear every word both of them are saying (the lady I'm standing next to has the volume turned up pretty loud.)
When anyone calls me on my cell at a store or here at the station, I would be mortified to have everybody I'm standing next to or working with hear everything I'm saying. Here at WIBW, I usually walk down the hall to the back door to talk.. There's better reception there, too. And I normally don't talk as loud as I talk on the news! The thing is.. the woman I heard today was in a complete cone of silence talking at the top of her lungs and spacing out that anyone was standing within ten feet of her. I guess it doesn't bother her!
Does it bother you? Let me know if you like to keep your cell calls all your own.. or want to share it with total strangers like me! rh
