After suffering through our bout with gas at $4 a gallon, one happy side effect of the economy heading into the dumper was gasoline prices heading back to where they were before.  But we knew it couldn't last.  "Moneytalk" radio talk show host Bob Brinker (who can be heard Saturdays and Sundays from 3-6pm on KMAJ in Topeka) says action by the OPEC "oil blackmailers" has gotten half of their "ill-gotten" gains back!  Two dollar a gallon gasoline is back just in time for summer.

After filling up at $1.95/ gallon seeing all other stations around them at $2.09, I braced for the worst.  My favorite gas station's lower price lasted for one extra day, then they followed the crowd.  All over Topeka and Lawrence, we're standing at $2.09 this weekend.  Can Memorial Day and 4th of July driving be far behind?

Let me know where you live and how much your gas is.  Heck, if it's worth it I may drive over and fill up at the place near your house!
