Let my blog page also serve as our WIBW announcement that WE ARE SWITCHING TO DIGITAL FEBRUARY 16TH. No matter what the U.S. Senate voted, waiting on Congress to delay digital until June 12th, it doesn't matter with us. WIBW-TV is not waiting until this summer for our clear digital signal to wash over Kansas. We are going to be ready in 3 and a half weeks. We're also anxious to read your memories of the old WIBW-TV by sending your thoughts to us at email@example.com.
During the busy Inauguration Day festivities, Melissa and I spent an hour in front of the cameras to adjust them for the digital look. After some viewer complaints that J.B. and I REALLY NEED A SHAVE BEFORE THE NEWS.. we found a way to solve that problem. (I had seen some videotapes of us before, and it really was bad.)
J.B. and I had already shaved, and still looked we had a 5:00 shadow from "Frost/Nixon!!" LOL!!
Anyway, I digress.. WIBW engineers dialed down the "enhancers" on our studio cameras, then turned them up slightly. You may noticed Melissa and I look much softer and warmer now. Our faces are not as splotchy and J.B. and I have baby-soft smooth shaved faces. Let me know if you can tell the difference, as we get set to switch to DTV on 2/16. Ralph
