Don't know if you saw President Bush's final news conference Monday morning, but avid political watchers noticed that Bush really "let it rip" in his final session with reporters. Usually stiff or overly cautious about the words he uses, Bush showed remarkable candor in admitting some of his mistakes in office (Mission Accomplished, the top one).. He also had kind words for his successor who takes office one week from today.. and said he would not wallow in self-pity on eight years in office that will be defined by 9-11, Iraq and the collapsing economy. (Bush mocked a petulant tone, saying "why is this happening on my watch?")
If you were up there at the podium, what would you say about Bush's presidency, entering its final week today? Grade him.. A to F on his term in office and let us know why you gave him that grade.
Historians will eventually give him the grade that'll really count.. much later on. Ralph
