I frankly hadn't thought much about this topic, since truly, no one in the 13 Newsroom has mentioned who they're supporting in the presidential race. I don't think any of us need to know anyway. We cover all 3 hopefuls all, mostly at 10:00.. and mostly on Tuesdays.. and always here on wibw.com. But what about the very real problem you may have at the office.. people talking presidential politics while you're trying to work? Especially with Clinton and Obama, I'm hearing stories from Americans who are offended by sexist comments they perceive in an anti-Hillary pitch.. or racist comments they perceive when someone's running down Barack.
Then there's the problem of co-workers wearing buttons to work, some of whom never let up on campaigning near your cubicle. Talk to them once, and suddenly, you're getting McCain, Clinton or Obama e-mails in your system recruiting you to volunteer.. or e-mails running down the competition. Those are the extreme situations that lead to fellow employees feeling tense or hostile around each other.. and stopping company communication cold between them.
No people's names or office names, please.. but can you tell me if you're having any political problems in your workplace? RH
