Man, the planets must be in line in the sports world! For around the $500 cost of a Southwest Airlines plane ticket to Detroit, Kansas sports fans could spend more money, buy 2 pairs of tickets, then cheer on their favorite college basketball and major league baseball teams.. hundreds of miles from home, but on the same weekend. The Jayhawks are playing tonight at the big blue Ford Arena, and if they have their way with Villanova.. will be bedding down in Motown till Sunday night.
Sometime this weekend, the Kansas City Royals will fly into Detroit's very long airport terminal building, grab their suit bags, head for the hotel.. and get ready for their opening day game Monday afternoon against the Detroit Tigers. (KC doesn't open at home until a week from Tuesday, April 8th against the Yankees.)
Any of you die hard powder blue, or Crimson and Blue fans going to the Motor City to make some noise for these teams from Lawrence and Kansas City?
