I remember, as I  walked the halls of my elementary school as a young tyke, a song that came to life on Football Friday Night.

It goes something like.......  "I looked up in the stands and yelled DON'T LOOK ETHEL....  but it was too late... She'd already been mooned..."

The halftime of the Washburn Rural game had scheduled the crowning of King and Queen for Homecoming and then addition to that ...oh yea- they had streakers.

I think we can agree that  this is not how we should act at a football game.  That being said, the crowd was laughing and cheering and the Streakers were not "completely" streaking.  They were caught and what ever happens to them the authorities will do their thing.

BUT.........  that being said- What do you think about this (look at the video if you were not there).   What should happen to the streakers?  Is this kids just being kids and no harm was done?  I have to admit, as I videoed the event, I was laughing to my self.

As the song goes, they were indeed the.........  "Fastest things on two feet."

Streakers seem to be coming back in again. I was at a wedding this summer where the bride o.k.d for a close male friend of hers to 'streak/lap dance' her new groom, but he had on a thong. If you look closely at the second streaker here, it appears he,too, has one on. That may be the 'new, modern' streaker method. I,too, hope that the school doesn't get real tough on these guys. Fun is o.k. if handled right. In this day and age when females let so much of themselves show on a daily basis, a thong covered male isn't that bad. Just so you'll know I'm not a kid any more,I have grandkids older than these streakers!

Response: Ewwww Lois....a streak/ lap dance : (

That is something I would not what to see or be a part of.... BUT that is just me I'm sure.

Boys will be boys is dominating this blog. Who knows, maybe the district is leaning that way- you think.

Hey Lois before I let you go, I would like you to hook up with Kay and maybe you two might have something to do on football friday coming up?.?...?

I don't know who these kids are but please don't put anything on these kids school records. They should be scolded, maybe, but save the punishments for the real trouble makers. I wasn't there but it sounds like most of the crowd loved the excitement. I'm 68 years old and would never have done that myself, in fact, I doubt that anyone would have streaked at Washburn Rural in the '50's but some probably would have had they thought of it.

Response:Hello there Kay.

Well there you go people.... We have a 68 year old giving her blessing to the streakers. I am going to break the rules and put Kay down for TWO votes on "boys will boys" since Kay deserves the two votes for Kay being Kay.

I am just thinking Kay, if you were to call Washburn Rural and get permision BEFORE hand....they would probably let you do some halftime streaking of your own.

Let me know how that goes.

I was there and I thought it was hilarious!I don't see why thats so harmful, they didn't do anything! It was just boys being boys!

Response:What's up in your world Lainee?

Fun was had by all that night it seems along with the home team winning. Maybe the district might want to hire these two for future halftime entertainment.... I'm just saying.

Got you down for" boys will be boys".

as said boys will be boys. A tongue in cheek repromand should sufice. There is no need for a first time prank to ruin their school record for their school years or life.

Response: Hey there Ron. You are clear on your vote, so I will chalk your mark down.

That is how I am thinking.... As the streakers- they were not covered up (I mean their faces of course) so they knew they were going to get caught obviously. So hopefully the school district won't throw the key away on them and learning can go on for the two.

Just think of the story they will be able to tell their grand kids though.

did this clown not have anyhing better to do... Yall at wrhs prolly laughed your all losers...

Response:Now, now, Blake.... I did not see any clown make up or a red nose on the streakers- so I don't think we can "officially" call them clowns. I am pretty sure I would not invite them to entertain at my five year olds birthday.

Mr. Blake I am only guessing here, but I am thinking you go to high school at one of the rivals of WR.....Shawnee Heights maybe? We will just say the "losers" comment is just a good rival ribbing (I hope).

this is just kids being kids...i had to laugh

Response:Word up kl.

Boys being boys seems to be leading the vote right now.

I suppose the two boys are hoping the authorities are voting the same way right now.

What a riot! Boys will be boys.

Response:Kelly, Kelly, Kelly (sorry- I have always wanted to say that).

I will put that down as Boys will be boys vote. I guess that is what you said...duh.

Thanks for not adding any references to non-clothed people. I feel like all of those type of comments have finally been stripped from the comments.

Haha this is great. Nice comment AW :)

Response:Hey Bri...what am I - chopped liver? I thought might comments were up to par with AW's . Oh well... It's ok- here at channel 65!

I still have not gotten any response on what should happen to these two kids. Focus people!

P.S. I still giggle like a school boy when I watch this video.

Not often see a double full moon at a foot-ball game.

Response:AW, AW, AW !!! I am going to have to throw a yellow flag on that comment. :P

I am racking my brain to come up with a clever comment but I am stripped clean of a come-back.

Nice weather we are having.... rain clearing by noon with temps in the 60's (I am getting real good at changing the subject aren't I).

Hahahha. I just happened to see this happen. Hilarious! The officers HAD to get a laugh outta this one.

Response:How do you do Emma? I suppose the officers had a good laugh after they got their breath back from all that running.

I wonder if the streaking was the spark the Rural football team needed to "cover up" the Highland Park offense and to go on and win the game.

I thought there was not a law against public nudity in the city of Topeka. If I remember a couple of years ago city council member Bret Blackburn tried to get an ordinance up to outlaw it and he could not even muster a second.

Response: Hello Ms. Christy. It is not for me to judge, but are you speaking from experience ??? I'm just saying (as the kids say).

There has been a couple of times the Peta people have come to Downtown Topeka and stripped down to next to nothing to get their point across. The Topeka Police did not take them in. The difference here is, I don't believe Peta ran across a football field afterwards (although that was a heck of a crowd Washburn Rural had at homecoming...Peta would of had a lot of eyes to see its "Peta Thoughts").

You know Christy, just talking about nudity is now making me warm wearing all these clothes. I wonder what the rules are here at 13...............

Posted by: RS Too funny, looked like the teams should have tried naked running plays, they might have been able to gain more yards. They would have to consider the chigger issue and loosing their.......... lets just say fumble. :)

Response: Yikes RS. I am not sure how to respond to your comment. I usually say, "Nice weather we are having! Currently it is sunny with with a visibility of 10 miles."

If you didn't notice, I slyly changed the subject. : )

That would be one of my best friends, and the $350 bail was definitely worth it.

Response:Hey there Laura. $350....Let me see- That would be OVER 80 Venti Cafe Mochas at Starbucks. Do you think your friend would think it was worth it had he thought of it that way?

Chow for now,
