Do Endorsements Impress You?
For years, I've found it irritating as the public figures come out of the woodwork to endorse their favorite candidates.   Remember when George Bush was going for his first term, and Alec Baldwin said he would move to Canada if Bush won.  Bush won, but Alec never sought a northern exposure.  Now we have our Governor endorse Obama.   Rudy endorses John McCain after Rudy dropped out.  When we get it down to the final Democrat against the final Republican, with an occasional final Independent, the endorsement parade will begin again.   I don't think I have ever gone into a voting place thinking who has endorsed the man or woman for whom i will cast my vote.  What do you think would happen if we ran an entire campaign and the media (of which I am most of the time a proud member) never reported an endorsement?   Would America survive?

Posted by: Jalee Endorsements don't matter. But I still don't understand how Bush was elected president twice...ok, appointed once and elected once. It's not looking any better for the upcoming election.

I do not pay attention to endorsements. It seems to me most endorsements have agendas tied to them. The endorsement is provided to receive a future benefit, such as an appointment to a position.

I do not pay any attention to the endorsements by others. I make my decision by who can do the job the best. I do not vote by party.

I could care less what some celebrity thinks about a candidate. I agree with Suzy; I read up and make my own informed decision.

Posted by: Suzy I'm not inclined to listen to celebrity hype about one candidate or the other. It matters not, to me. I read up on all the candidates, and make an informed decision.
