People like to talk about the Topeka City Council. Well, talk - and complain. So you'd think that when people had the opportunity to have their say as to who would serve on the City Council, they'd jump at the opportunity.
Maybe not.
Shawnee County Elections Commissioner Elizabeth Ensley says, based in part on a lower number of advance ballot requests, she is projecting a 15 percent voter turnout for Tuesday's municipal election. I even got a mailing by a candidate for the district in which I live that noted fewer than 1,000 people were expected to vote for that particular race.
It makes me wonder - what motivates you to vote in an election? Or NOT to vote? Let me know - and go vote, Topeka!
