Share Your Home Team Traditions

by Melissa Brunner

I have now been indoctrinated into the ways of both our local Big 12 teams. Last Saturday, I attended my first KU football game. Seeing the insane number of points racked up on the scoreboard over Northern Illinois (though they scored only slightly less) meant I had many opportunities to get the hang of "waving the wheat." Don't fear, K-State fans! I'd already been to a few of your game, too, where I learned all about the Wabash Cannonball.

As the newsroom prepares to embark on another Friday night of high school football fun, I'm wondering what some of your own hometown football traditions are - or traditions from other sports. My college (Marquette University) didn't have football, so I found it fun to walk through the neighborhoods near Memorial Stadium and the parking lot of Snyder Family Stadium to see the atmospheres that surround game day.

Show me your team spirit! And remember - you can also share it and pictures at www.ksprepzone.com.
