One Minute without Facebook

by Melissa Brunner

You would have thought some major worldwide catastrophe had just happened from the speed of the Twitter stream. I just happened to be on my Facebook page today when a message popped up that there was a problem. I tried to reload the page but only two odd items came up in the stream. Curious if it was a problem with just me, I headed over to my TweetDeck and did a search for #Facebook.

Wow! I have never seen the tweets fly so quickly! I think I learned how to say "Facebook is down!" in three dozen languages! It was mass panic! Surely, the hackers had been successful in taking down Facebook! How will we communicate?!

About a minute later, I tried again and everything was loading fine. Deep breath. All is right with the world again.

I'm obviously using a bit of sarcasm here, but seriously - how much would the loss of Facebook impact you? And, if you don't have a Facebook page, take us back three years and remind us how we all communicated pre-Zuckerberg? Leave your comment here, or head to ..... and like me ;-(
