How Do You Dream?

by Melissa Brunner

Today is set aside to honor the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. It is time to celebrate the work he began, the conversation that continues and the tasks which still lie ahead.

For many, this is a day off work or school. But let's remember that this "day off" should really be a "day on." Across the country, people were encouraged to use this as a day of service, to reach out to someone in need and give them a hand.

How did you fulfill Dr. King's dream today? It's really a question not just for today, but for everyday. As we reflect, I share a few quotes from Dr. King.

"Take the first step in faith. You don't have to see the whole staircase, just take the first step."

"The quality, not the longevity, of one's life is what is important."

"Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere." "Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter."
