I like to peruse what articles Yahoo! has posted from various sources each day. Today, one titled "Weirdest Traffic Laws in America" caught my eye. It's from cnbc.com. The first one on the list came from Kansas - imagine that!
Evidently, it's illegal to screech your tires in Kansas. They say it's a state law, with local ordinances to back it up. They then go on to cite a Derby ordinance. Perhaps it sounds silly, but if you read the description it sounds to me like the real goal is to curtail drag racing. So maybe it's not so weird after all.
Cussing, dirty cars and pets also make the list. Here's the link to see the others: http://autos.yahoo.com/articles/autos_content_landing_pages/1792/weird-traffic-laws/
