Guys might give us gals a hard time over our fancy coffee, but the last laugh just might be on them - a survey by Accounting Principals found men more likely to splurge on the $5 cup of joe than women are.
The group also added up the cost of our nation's latte love. They found U.S. workers spend more than $1,000 a year on coffee and shell out another $2,000 for lunch. Men, they say, spend $20 more a week on lunch than women. Oh, and it points out men are also more likely to complain about what's in (or not in!) the office vending machine!
The gender difference wasn't the only one found in the study. It also says 18 to 34 years spend more than double what their coworkers over 45 do each week on coffee - $25 versus $11. Ouch!
As for our office, I'm perfectly content with the PTs Coffee we have brewing in the breakroom, though I will splurge on a small, skim vanilla latte from time to time! Like anything, seeing how those few dollars here and there add up over time makes you rethink how often you spend them!
