The Real Reason for Vacations

I'm starting to think the reason we need to vacation is to recover from all the time spent preparing for the vacation!

Don't get me wrong - the prospect of some time away from the regular routine is something to look forward to, but as I prepare for two weeks away from work, I'm realizing that it's stressing me out! The list seems to get longer every day - make sure my To Your Health stories are done; finish preps for the Heart Gala; clean my desk; make sure the save reels are caught up; clear out the edit bay memory; etc., etc. Then there are the things at home - clean the house (my father-in-law will be there while I'm gone - he can't know how messy I am!); do the laundry; lay out clothing and see what we might need new; make sure the frig is cleaned out; get the dogs ready for their babysitter; etc. etc.

Any tricks of the trade you have for getting organized for a vacation? Of course, it'll all be worth it the moment I take my first breath of tropical air! And I'll look forward to returning - and the vacation I'll need to recover from the vacation!
