My four-legged "kids" do a pretty good job of reminding me to focus on the sunny spots in life and things don't seem so bad. Sometimes, it's pretty literal! This week, I had the dogs out for a run before I headed to work. We walked a bit - me shivering against a chill in the air. Finally, I called them to kennel up. Buddy and Ricky came bounding for some cuddles and Bam Bam stood guard at the gate, waiting to head back to the house. But Lucy was no where in sight. I called some more. Still no Lucy. So I headed down the hill and rounded the corner to find Lucy stretched out in some fluffy grass, soaking up the sun. She looked at me as if to say, "What's the problem? I'm just enjoying myself here!" She was right - if you took time to notice the bright sun, it really wasn't such a bad day outside.

The cats do a good job of this, too. They're always finding the sunny spots in life - those little slivers of sun that spill across the floor or a favorite chair! And they're quite happy about it - as you can see from Spidey's expression!
Here's wishing you only sunny spots this holiday season and in the new year!
