Many Americans are looking at the calendar and breathing a collective, "Thank goodness!" Election Day is a week away, which means the debates, attacks and ads are almost over. To say this election cycle has been filled with intensity might be an understatement. Despite it all, I'll admit there are some things I'll miss about the election news. With all the interest in the election (even if it does border on annoyance for some!), there is more opportunity to present issues that affect our lives without people writing it off as too boring to care about. If we all can keep up the interest in the issues once the polls close, I think we'll all be better off. The end of the election also means an end to our "Running Mate" chats with CNN reporter Samantha Hayes that air on 13 News Live at 5. Next Friday will bring the final one. It's been an interesting way to have a front-row seat to the Presidential campaign. The entire 13 News team is also looking forward to our election night coverage. We'll again have extended coverage on My TV beginning at 7pm and running through the end of an expanded 13 News at 10 on WIBW-TV. Ralph and I will be joined in our studio by former House Speaker Kent Glasscock, former Topeka mayor/current Revenue Secretary Joan Wagnon, and Raubin Pierce and Megan Mosack of AM-580 radio. We have a lot of hotly-contested races and issues in Northeast Kansas to follow, in addition to the Presidential race. For as much as this campaign season has been in your face, be here to see how it all ends!
