Some of you may have heard me share the story of my arrival at Monday's YWCA Leadership Luncheon. I thought I was going to time my arrival between downpours - no such luck. I parked my vehicle, and felt it rocking in the wind. I stuck one foot on the ground - right into a nearly ankle-deep puddle. My umbrella was no match for the wind-driven buckets being dumped from the skies as I made a mad dash for the back door of the Ramada. By the time I got there, I might as well have come straight out of the shower! I got the entryway of the ballroom, my friend, Linda, took one look at me and burst out laughing - and I couldn't help but laugh right along with her, knowing the picture I must have made. Turns out, I didn't have to wonder what that picture would look like - as Ronnie Padilla came up to offer me access to a blow dryer, we posed for a lovely shot. I said on the live chat that I would share it, so I'm keeping my promise. Here it is! I definitely wasn't alone - the Ramada was handing out towels to people walking in the door, many as soaked as I was. I'm sure we'll be talking about this Leadership Luncheon for many years to come!
