What a great weekend! In between mowing the lawn Saturday and a 13th birthday party for my nephew, Tyler, Sunday, Doug and I had the chance to take part in Saturday's Evening as a Child to benefit the Easter Seals Capper Foundation. If you'd like to attend a charity event, but aren't too keen on dressing up, put this one on your calendar for next year! First, you get to dress casual. Dinner is picnic-type fare - barbeque ribs and brisket - and giant chocolate chip cookies! Then, before you bid on silent and live auction items, you get to take part in fun and games and act like a kid! Doug and I had no trouble diving right into the fun - and was more than happy to snap a few fun pictures. (We just got to play - Jeremy Goodwin and JB Bauersfeld each took a turn being the target of the dunk tank!) It was a good time for a great cause - head to www.capper.easterseals.com to learn more about this wonderful organization. I'm so grateful for their invitation to take part - it got me warmed up for all the turns down the slide with the younger nephews the next day!
First, we head to the dunk tank where Jeremy Goodwin is waiting to get wet! I gave it a good try - but I'll confess - Doug is actually the one who hit the target to send Jeremy plunging in! What a good sport!
Next, I see Scott Fletcher as a human bowling ball and think - that's not so bad!
All smiles starting out!
A strike! And then I just hang out!
Giddy up, pardner! Doug has better form, but my gloves were prettier!
My show of strength - I did get it up over the eight!
Ryan and BJ McGivern battle it out in the jousting area.
JB goes down in the dunk tank - his dad made sure of that - several times!
A look at the festive atmosphere.
