While still giddy from our late night last night (the news got over at 12:25 am - but the dog still makes me get up at 7:30!), I headed out to run some errands this morning. Everyone seemed in such a jovial mood. At one store, a woman was walking around in a bright blue wind jacket, wearing red beads and red and blue earrings. In the parking lot of another store, a festive flag was flapping in the the breeze from a rear window. And in the check out at WalMart, I ran into a nice man who actually stayed up late and watched us last night - we chatted a while, and I spotted his t-shirt. Yep - University of Kansas Jayhawks. Seems the impending Sweet 16 matchup tonight has lots of folks in a good mood. I got to work, and my friend Peg even has us shooting hoops for treats at her cubicle! With our other teams' seasons coming to an end, the Hawks can capture all our attention (although - what was the discussion at the news conference last week about whether any Wildcat fans could bring themselves to cheer for KU in Omaha?!). I just have to look out for the potential KU-Wisconsin matchup Sunday --- when Wisconsin beat K-State last weekend, I got home to two messages from family on my answering machine expressing their sympathy (my brother even sang, "On, Wisconsin!") - I don't want that again!
