Spring has sprung - and that means road races are sprouting up every weekend as quickly as the tulips from your flower beds! So many great causes - so much exercise to get in! This past Saturday, several of us from 13 News laced up our shoes for the YWCA Race Against Racism. Congrats to Lindsay Shively for completing her first 5k race! Also, our producer Amanda kicked it in to earn a medal, and her mom joined us for the fun again. Lauren, one of our sales people, rounded out our team. A couple other ladies participating said they'd heard us talk about it on the news, and decided that, since they were going out for a jog anyway, they might as well do it for a cause. No need for it to stop here - there are plenty of good causes to support in the weeks ahead. This Saturday (the 29th) Silver Lake has a 5k scholarship run, and the following Saturday (April 5) is the annual Run for Life to support organ donation (www.runforlife.us). Let me know what other runs you hear about in the weeks and months ahead - I'd love to share the details. Meantime, enjoy some pictures my husband snapped Saturday - he's still sidelined with a heel spur and a leg problem, but he makes a fantastic cheerleader for us - not to mention personal photographer!
