While I appreciate Mother Nature not wanting me to be homesick, I'm becoming a bit sick of this winter weather! I'll often run into people who say that since I grew up in Wisconsin, this must be nothing! That doesn't mean I like it! One thing I've loved about Kansas winters is that, even though it gets cold, you know it will warm back up in a week. Where I'm from, you enter the freeze in October and, if you're lucky, snap out of it in May. OK, that might be stretching it a little, but I do remember having high school track meets in May canceled because of snow! Today, I drove through four different kinds of winter precipitation in two hours - sleet, little ice pellets, small snowflakes and big, wet, heavy flakes. Why settle for just one type when we can have it all?! At least it's not straight ice - I can drive in the snow, but there's not much you can do with the ice. Try to stay warm, slow down on the roads, and, remember, spring is only a few weeks away (at least on the calendar!).
