Cinco De Mayo--What's Your Favorite Salsa?

Nothing makes me think Chips and Salsa like Cinco De Mayo. Salsa can be a very personal thing and there seem to be so many different kinds--every restaurant is different. Chunky or not, hot or not, with FRUIT or not, etc. So what kind is your favorite? Either from a restaurant or store or even your own homemade recipe?

I like pineapple salsa a lot but must admit, it's mostly because I can't handle a whole lotta heat with my chips. I stick to mild or medium. So tell me--where can I find the "MUST TRY" salsa for this Cinco De Mayo?

On the Border salsa tastes like spaghetti sauce. Too much oregano? It is hard to find good Mex. food around here but I think El Mezcal or Carlos OK's have the best salsa.

I love my salsa. It is actually a recipe from a very good friend. I love to make it and take to parties. Everyone loves it.

On the border definitely has the best salsa but you might think its a bit hot. I like hot chunky salsa myself.

Lindsay, If u get some salsa that is a little too hot for your liking and cant take the heat open a packet of sugar and pour on your tongue, It will take the heat away from your mouth.. U may still sweat a bit from the heat but the fire is out in your mouth. --------Good tip, I'll have to try that, Thanks! LS

Posted by: Suzy On the Border has the best salsa, both in the restaurant and at the grocery store. De-lish! If you're looking for mild, don't get the salsa at the restaurant. I think it's main ingredient in LAVA! The mild that you can buy at W.M. is pretty good, but I prefer medium heat. I add freshly chopped cilantro to mine. Not everyone likes cilantro, though.
