OK guys... I need your help.
My assignment is to record something 10 to 15 seconds long... to be a "wibw ring tone".
If you are on this blog, it's quite possible you would be interested in having me ramble as your phone "rings".  I have about 100 idea... but frankly... they are all over the place.  From... "A blizzard of information is waiting for you... all you must do is answer your phone".  Or... of course... I can chant "you have my permission to turn down the volume on WIBW-TV long enough to answer your phone. thankfully you have a DVR and won't miss anything".
Or... of course there is always... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jNvo3dR3RIAIf you can imagine me singning "a ringity ding ding da doooong... ringity ding dong ding" when your phone rings...
I don't know.  I will come up with something.  But, if you have ideas... I am certainly willing to listen.
Part of my e-mail communication with our promotions department is below.  Hmmmmmmmmm....

Subject: RINGTONE VO's
  Hello All,
If you are on air then this pertains to you.  If you aren’t, then you’re off the hook.  As I believe most of you know we are looking to implement ringtones with the station music as well as a recording from all you lovely people.  So starting next week, I will need to see each and every one of you in my office at some point (preferably not at the same time) to record your ringtone message.  Thanks so much,

Dylan

Yes, the station music will play with a recording of each of the talent and people will be able to pick who they want to have on their phone.  I came up with the idea of the ringtone and Jim decided he wanted the talent to be on it.  Thanks,

Dylan

you gotta love bosses, how about- "Ring Ring, Jeremy Goodwin says your phone is ringing, "Whether" or not you answer is up to you!" - and then repeat for a couple of times................ this is an idea that will catch on? IDK....

Maybe you could sing. "O Danny-boy, the phone, the phone is ringing..."
  • by Grace Location: Emporia on Feb 10, 2010 at 07:19 PM
You could always sing a bar from a weather-themed song. "I can see clearly now" or "Raindrops are falling on my head" or something. :)
