Saturday was the first time I had the opportunity to golf this year.  Sooooo... it's been about 8 months since I hit the course.  I am not a great player... tend to be somewhere in the lower or mid 40s for a round on average.  My first hole at Lake Shawnee... I topped my drive, but it still traveled about 200 yards... to just off the right of the fairway.  Now, about 140 yards out, I decide to hit the 8 iron into a light breeze from my back... and completely mishit it.  The ball rolled about 40 yards without every leaving the ground.  So, hitting my third shot from 100 yards out... it's sand wedge time.  I finally hit one correctly... right at the hole, and on the green.  On the green I had 30 feet to the hole for my 4th shot.  It was like a higher power placed his hand on the ball and placed it in the hole.  I actually made the first put I had attempted in 8 months... from 30 feet.  I then announced... "OK... great golfing with you guys... let's quit there".  I then got a 9 on the next hole.  :)  Finished the day with a 105.  Backswing too fast...  Pulling my head...  Extending the knees too early in the swing...  Leaning forward in the swing and topping the ball...  And general lack of skill, all seemed to be issued.  But, I had fun!
