Wow!  What a month I have had.

In the words of Mr. Johnny Cash... "I've Been Everywhere Man"

In the past month... I have been to Chicago... then on a train to Reno... on a bus to Lake Tahoe... another bus to San Francisco... Monterey, Los Angeles, San Diego, Las Vegas, Imperial Beach, Upland, Santa Monica, Malibu, Pismo Beach, San Luis Abisbo, Santa Barbara, Solvang, Anaheim, Laguna Beach. 

I won't count the cities along the train trip as towns I have "been to", but I did see the desert of Nevada... the mountains of Utah and Colorado, and the much of the canyons along the Colorado River... from the window of an Amtrak. 

My first trip to California was with my wonderful wife... to see family.  I was with people from her side of our family that made me feel welcome at every moment.  I had sushi... I had steak.  I had wine in Napa.  I had Crab Cakes with the sounds of Sea Lions barking outside at Pier 39.  My second trip to California was with my Uncle John.  We have been close for a long time... but distance has always been a barrier for us.  He traveled with me on the second trip to California with Holiday Vacations.  John had not traveled by air in almost 30 years.  But, he fought his fear and climbed aboard 4 flights to make the trip with me. 

I could talk forever about the trip... and I will share more later.  I have about 600 pictures to dig through and I need to make CDs for the folks who traveled with us on Holiday Vacations.
