So was I the only one surprised when I heard that Clint Bowyer is set to drive the Cheerios Car? BOO!!! I mean, I eat Cheerios on a regular basis, and I'm happy to think I'll be supporting our local driver... but I feel that Jack Daniel's is a heck of a lot edgier and just plain cooler. I don't know the guy personally, but I've interviewed him quite a few times, and have some mutual friends, and he just seems a lot more suited for JD than an oat cereal that lowers your cholesterol.
When I go have a cocktail at my local watering hole I take pride in ordering a Jack and Coke. I see all of the Bowyer signs on the walls, and I think... "way to go kid." (There's nothing like a local guy, done good). I mean, the guys nickname is "Rawhide." I know that Cheerios and Hamburger Helper don't make me think... get em up, move em out. Some call him "Shifty," Cheerios don't make me feel shifty, (technically neither does Jack, at least not after a couple).
Technically, I'm not mad about the #33. He made his debut appearance in that number, and I loved Larry Bird, but there's something about that 07. I guess I'll just have to get used to seeing those 33 stickers and hats all over Emporia now.
