This is my first time to cover the NCAA tournament on site, and so far it's been just what I expected: a fun frenzy. The amount of media is just amazing. No less than 10 different TV stations are covering KU and K-State, and almost all of them have 2 crews to cover both squads. Add in a dozen or so print outlets, and those interviews can get pretty crowded. I don't think I'd rather be anywhere else right now.
The city of Omaha has been a great host too. The people have exhibited Midwest hospitality, and I've heard "welcome to Omaha" no less than 5 times from random strangers in passing. The historic Old Market area is just great. Antique buildings fronted by brick streets with plenty of foot traffic. Enjoy the pics. BTW, if you haven't figured it out, the "O!" is for Omaha, and they're all over the place.
