I have the fondest memories of being a kid sitting with my big brothers watching every game of the Big 8 tournament.  We'd sit in the crowd at Kemper Arena and stuff ourselves with Dove ice cream bars and popcorn, while dreaming of playing college basketball.  When the Big 8 became the Big 12, the tournament started changing locations every year, and the lore of the conference tournament seemed a bit tainted. 

Finally, the Big 12 Championship (Tournament) has come back to Kansas City. 

As Kemper became older and more outdated, Kansas City became a less frequent host.  But this year, with the new Sprint Center, the Championship is back in it's rightful place... KC.  And with the Women's tournament being played half a mile away at Municipal Auditorium, it makes for an electric week of College hoops.  I can't wait to go cover the games on Saturday, and feel like a kid again.
