Living To Laugh

God’s love letter to us says, “A cheerful heart brings a smile to your face.” (Proverbs 15:13.)  I love to have a good laugh, and I often realize that the best laugh I can have is at myself.  Over the years, I have learned I can’t take myself too seriously.  You can agree or disagree with me, but it seems those that take themselves too seriously suffer from a terrible skin disorder called thinskinitis

As the Apostle Paul penned his letter to the church of Philippi, he was in prison, beaten, and chained to a guard 24/7, yet over and over again throughout the book of Philippians you read the words “rejoice,” “joy,” and “rejoicing.”

This morning as I was driving to an appointment, I was thinking of the different feelings I have experienced as my family and I have adjusted to living in Topeka.  I started thinking about some of the challenges, but then I stopped and just started counting my blessings.  I started naming them one by one and recalling what the Lord has done.  Suddenly, the sun was brighter!  The car in front of me wasn’t as irritating!  My fast food breakfast tasted like it was cooked with love (well at least cooked)!

Anyway, know that God likes your smile and is well aware of what is happening in your life.  Stop and count your blessings, and remember often the best kind of fun is free!

Amen! In sales we are taught that you have to have a smile on your face even when you are on the phone. People can tell the difference in the tone (personality) of your voice. Well, life is no different. If you are unhappy it comes through to other people. Think about it, life is sales 24/7. We sell to our kids and spouse every day (to get them to do things). How you choose to do that task is up you. Be cheerful they will be more apt to do the task.
