As about 8 inches of snow dumped on the Capital City, myself, Dave Johnson, and JB Bauersfeld decided it would be fun to roll the clocks back a few years and head off to Quinton Heights sledding hill to act like teenagers again. We had a great time as we went up and down the hill several times and enjoyed the fun atmosphere with the other Topekans that were there doing the same thing. It was a perfect day for sledding as the snow continued to fall through the afternoon hours. There was plenty of snow for all to enjoy and with temperatures in the 20s and not much wind, the conditions were ideal for enjoying an afternoon outdoors in the snow. Afterwards, I warmed up with a nice steaming cup of hot chocolate, just like I would when I was younger. Good times!
I do have one question. Whose responsibility do you think it is to watch out for and avoid collisions on the hill? The sledders coming down our those walking back up? There were certainly some wipeouts but I did not see any injuries while I was there.
