My New Year's Resolution is to lose at least 20 pounds by the time I get married in July. I want my weight to start with a 1 instead of a 2. In the first week of my diet/exercise plan I was very disciplined on the diet side. I am really watching my portions and trying to stick to mainly meat, veggies, and fruit. I didn't do a great job of working out in the first week - only two workouts. After weighing in yesterday I have already dropped 4 pounds. So that was certainly encouraging. My plan is to continue with the strict diet and start ramping up my workout schedule.
The thing that has helped me the most is telling others to help me out. Don't let me eat candy or get Taco Bell for lunch. When people know you are on a strict diet, I find they will help remind you and encourage you not to give in to the temptations your taste buds are feeling. This morning as I inched close to a box of donuts in the break room our producer Josh Mabry spotted me and scolded me. I appreciate the support Josh! I have also only kept "good" food in my house. Not buying chips and cookies at the store means when I am tempted our have the urge, there is nothing in my house to eat that would ruin the diet. This makes the dieting process easier. Hopefully in the next month or so I will get to that point where I feel bad if I miss a work out and where a cookie just does not look all that appetizing. We shall see.
So how is your New Year's Resolution going? Stick with it!
